Do Condos Appreciate In Value?
I often get asked if a condo purchase is a good investment. I say that it is very similar to buying a home. Are you planning on doing updates to the condo? Is the association taking care of the complex? Are the other condo owners taking care of their units? What is the market like? What are the other condos selling for in the complex? What are they selling for around the complex? These are all things to take into consideration when you are buying a condo. Pretty much the same things that I would be considering when buying a home. If you are currently considering selling your condo, I would be happy to do a market analysis in your complex and the surrounding area. If you are not ready to sell, I would try to do as many updates as you can while you are living there. I say, enjoy the condo while you are there. If you do nice and neutral updates, it will make your condo much easier to sell when you are ready!
